Affiliate disclosure

Wartime Attic is free to read. To keep it that way, some pages will contain affiliate links.

What that means

If you click a link to a partner such as Findmypast or Forces War Records and then buy a subscription, the partner may pay us a commission. You pay the same price.

Our rules

• Free routes first. If a record is free at The National Archives or elsewhere, we say so before mentioning any paid site.
• No paid placements. Partners can’t buy a recommendation or a review.
• Links are marked. Affiliate links carry a “rel=sponsored” tag, and pages that contain them say so.
• Ads, later. We may add display advertising once the site grows. This page will be updated when we do.
